Biography

Ronald Keith Sinclair was born on 23rd June 1920 at Myponga, South Australia, Australia. He was the son of Frederick Sinclair and Mary Spurling. ^[1] Birth details from an unsourced family tree on Ancestry. Better source required.

Ronald Keith Sinclair enlisted in the AIF during World War II, Service Number S67828. ^[2]

Ronald Keith Sinclair married Joyce Elizabeth Haines on 11th September 1943 at St Margaret's Church, Woodville, South Australia, Australia. Their marriage was announced in "The Advertiser" on Tuesday 7th September 1943.

"Haines—Sinclair. —The marriage of Joyce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Haines, of Woodville, to Ronald, son Mr. F. and the late Mrs. Sinclair (nee Spurling), late of Beaufort, St. Margaret's Church, Woodville, Sept. 11, 7 p.m." ^[3]

Ronald Keith Sinclair died in tragic circumstances on 13th August 1954 when he disappeared while fishing on the Port River from the ICI wharf at Osborne. His body was recovered from the Port River on 24th August. The following newspaper reports appeared in "The Advertiser" on Monday 16th August 1954,

Man Missing At Port

Police are still searching for Ronald Keith Sinclair 32, fitter, of Buller street Prospect who disappeared while fishing from the ICI wharf on the Port River on Friday night. Water police dragged the river near the wharf yesterday and on Saturday. Sinclair could not swim. ^[4] and on Wednesday 25th August 1954.

The body of Ronald Keith Sinclair, 32, fitter, of Buller street, Prospect, was recovered from the Port river yesterday. Sinclair disappeared while fishing from a wharf at Osborne on August 13. ^[5].
