Sinclair Sandison, son of Robert Sandison and Kathrine Ross, was born about 1809 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 21 August 1809.[1] Place of residence at the time of baptism was Snotterfield (Snotherfield)[2] now believed to be modern day Shielton.[3]
