Biography
There is no real evidence that Mary's maiden name was a Sampson. There is no birth record for Daniel Howland's wife. The Sampson name is used on many trees on Ancestry, RootsWeb, and others.
It seems that the claim that Mary was a Sampson first arose in the old Howland Family, by Franklyn Howland.
Research on the Sampson family does not show anything about a Mary Sampson.
