Robert Baldwin Roblin was born on 7 Apr 1852 in Sophiasburgh, Prince Edward, Ontario, Canada, son of Philip Roblin (1814 - 1899) and Elizabeth Ann (Bogart) Roblin (1826 - 1908).

Robert married Sarah Elizabeth Mallory (1855 - 1922) on 22 Jun 1875 in Adolphustown, Lennox, Canada West. Their children were:
- Estelle Grace (Roblin) Morris (1877 - )
- Elsie Augusta Roblin (1886 - 1950).
They lived in Sophiasburgh Township until at least 1877.
At least 1880-1920 they were in Stockton, California, where in 1880 he worked in a gristmill.
