Biography

Jane was born about 1822 to Charles Robertson and Janet Westwater in Auchterderran, Fife. ^{[1] [2]} Her parents had two children baptised in Burntisland - John in 1824 ^[3] and Matthew in 1826 ^[4]

She married James Turner 12 Apr 1840 in Abbotshall. ^[5]

She was enumerated in the 1851 Scotland Census living on the High St. in Burntisland, Fife. She was 29 Years old and born in Auchterderran. She was living with her husband James, a 33 year old labourer in a quarry. He was born in Campsie, Stirling. Also living there are their children: Robert 8, James 6, Janet 3 and Isa 11mos. ^[12]

She passed away 17 Jul 1908 in Dysart, Fife. She was living with her son John and he was the informant. She was the widow of James Turner, miner and her parents were Charles Robertson, ploughman, and Janet Westwater, both deceased. Jane passed away with cardiac disease. ^[2]
