It should be noted that the marriage record for the child Elizabeth is in the name of Elizabeth Shields. It should also be noted that marriages in the OPR records rarely include the names of the Bride and Groom's parents although occasionally they will mention a father. The record on FamilySearch does not mention a parents name. However the image could yield such information. If the parents are not named on the Marriage then the marriage cannot be used as a source to the existence of Ann Rankon or John Shill.
It would however be better to use the source of Elizabeth's death from 1875 as proof of this couples existence as her parents should be detailed on the certificate.
