Biography
It is possible that Mary met George Brown when she was visiting or living with her brother James in Watten, though given that her first child was born in Edinburgh, she clearly left the area of Watten for a period of time.
Mary was named as the mother of William Brown on the latter's 1853 birth and baptism record.
Mary is not recorded as living with her family in Watten in 1861 - she may have died or been travelling. However, she was alive in 1851.
