Look at Willians-55413 For Me .. I believe Constant Williams married Our.. Sarah (Ford) Edson in 1817 in Hardin County Kentucky.. There is a Daughter.. Margaret born in late Fall of 1817.. I added Her Today.. And the DNA Matches are there Already..

Who is Margaret Williams????

Thanks.. Mike Hasenstab

P.S. Have You ever lived in Crawford County Indiana???

posted by Lawrence Hasenstab
Hi again! I have reviewed your sources briefly, and it appears that Constant had a wife I did not know about! I only knew about my ancestor, Irena Fuller - who is the Mayflower descendant - and his 3rd wife Asa Bassett. My family, including my grandmother, (Minnie) Esther Williams (Phillips, Pillow) were from Crawford County through Constant's son with Irena Williams, Addison Williams and his daughter Marilda Williams, and I have scores of DNA cousins to prove that. BUT Marilda's husband was also a Williams (Henry Williams) from Vigo County Indiana, so, perhaps our connection was through him? Since I wasn't aware that Constant married Sarah at all, I definitely don't know who Margaret is. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Hello, I have read all of your comments on my and my father's (Bill Phillips') profile. Please know that both come to me, as I am his profile manager and he is deceased. I have gotten every one of the messages, I just don't have as much time as I'd like to respond. I assure you that one message is enough, and I will eventually respond. Regarding Sarah Ford, she was the daughter of Isaac Ford and Irena Williams and my first cousin, 3x removed. Her mother, Irena Williams, was my 2nd great-grandaunt, sister of my 2nd great grandmother, Marilda Williams, both daughters of Addison Williams and Azubah Beals. Addison was the son of Constant Williams and Irena Fuller. As Sarah Ford is not in my direct line, I am afraid I don't have any information about her, but Ancestry is showing hints related to a spouse named Jacob Goddard, and this Find-A-Grave listing:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/45241185/sarah-ann-goddard?_gl=1*1v1k1vi*_ga*MTAwNTg0Nzk1LjE2NzU3NjY1OTM.*_ga_4QT8FMEX30*ZjI1MTNiZTQtMzdlNi00MDU2LWIyMGItZTk4OTQzNzE2MWIzLjIxNy4xLjE2ODM4OTMyNTIuNTkuMC4w

Good luck!

Hi Julie,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s ones, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

 :)

PS: Did you know that we have a research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier? I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootSearch FAQ.

Hi Laura,

Thank you for checking in with me! I have been getting prepared to really dig into this and learn how to use it. I am still very new, and unsure of how to do things correctly, and it overwhelmed me so much that I almost gave up. I just discovered that my whole account is based on Minor being my name at birth. It was not. Minor is my married name. So I need to change my name at birth to Phillips. But I have already uploaded a GEDcom with nearly 5,000 people, and I am about 1/4 of the way through comparing matches. So what would you suggest, that I bite the bullet and change the name, pressing the reset on all of the work I've done, or completing the GED compare and THEN changing my name at birth?

Thank you in advance, Julie

Hi Julie,

You are welcome. Correcting your account to your birth name will not affect your GEDCOM/GEDCompare. Click on the 'Edit' tab towards the upper part of your profile. Scroll down on the left you will see where it says your 'Last Name at Birth' is Minor. There is a small 'edit' tab, click that and change it to Phillips and save it. Then you can add the name Minor in the 'Current Last Name' box if you want both names to show. No worries, in no time you will be a WikiTree pro. If you have any questions about how WikiTree works don't hesitate to ask, let me know.

Laura 🙂

Hi Deb,

I seem to have created 2 accounts. One under Julie Minor, and one under Julie Phillips-Minor. I can't find the sign-out option to go ahead and sign out of Julie Minor and into Julie Phillips-Minor (Minor is a married name). I already have my Gedcom uploaded on the other account and having two is confusing. Any help you can provide would be appreciated!

Sincerely, Julie (Phillips) Minor

Hi Julie

Debi may not have seen your comment, as you posted it on your profile, rather than as a reply to her comment. I saw it while undertaking Greeter duties.

Please would you let me know your WikiTree ID for the previous account. I can then request a merge. I tried a search, but was unable to find a Phillips-Minor. That doesn't mean that there isn't one, as it could be unlisted.

Many thanks Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter

Hi Julie,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of the connected profiles being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.

Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.

The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.

To get the best results, begin adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to ancestors already in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, use the reply link below this message to let me know. Have fun!
