Jane (Park) Sinton was born about 1816 in Roxburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of Joseph Park (~1775 - ) and Mary (Redpath) Park (~1776 - >1851).

Jane married Robert Sinton (~1813 - 1877) on 21 April 1839 in Lilliesleaf, Roxburghshire^[1].

In the 1841 Scotland Census Jane was said to be 25 yeras old and residing with her husband Robert, daughter Mary and mother Mary Redpath at Balers, Selkirk^[2]. It should be noted that Ancestry records the family name as Lenton in the 1841 Census however the same record on ScotlandsPeople is recorded as Linton.

In the 1851 Scotland Census Jean is said to be 35 years old and resides with her husband Robert, 6 children and her mother Mary Redpath at Ralees, Selkirk^[3].

In the 1861 Scotland Census Jane is said to be 45 years old and resides with her husband Robert and 6 of their children at Raelees, Selkirk^[4].

In the 1871 Scotland Census Jane is said to be 55 years old and resides with her husband Robert, 5 children and 1 grandchild at Hartwoodburn, Selkirk^[5].

In 1877 Jane became a widow upon the death of her husband Robert Sinton at Selkirk, Selkirkshire.

In the 1881 Scotland Census Jane is said to be aged 65 years old and resides at 22 Curror Street, Selkirk with 2 of her children and 2 of her grandchildren^[6].
