Elizabeth's father, Robert died in 1819. At the time of his death, Robert Morgan owned half interest in two schooners, the General Scott, with his son-in-law, Captain John Elliott, and the Washington, with his brother, John Morgan. These ships he willed to his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Elizabeth Hawkins Elliott.
