George McAdie of Ruther, in the parish of Watten, married Jannet Stephen, of the parish of Watten, in Watten on 2 February 1800 after the reading of banns.^[1]

In 1841 George is living with two of his children, Christian and Donald at Gersay, Watten, along with Henry Dunnett.^[2][3]

George may be the son of David McAdy and Isabella Cooper.

If so, he was baptized in 1776 - which makes the 1841 census age of 55 (b. 1786) rather too far out, even accounting for the rounding down to nearest 5 (ie 1781-1786)
