Biography

James, son of William Malcom & Agnes Templeton, was baptised on 12 November 1812 at High Church, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland.^[1]

James married Margaret Cherry on 23 October 1831 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.^[2][3]

In the 1851 census James (age 37), Railway Porter, was the head of household at 3, Gorbals, Lanarkshire.^[4]

James's death (age 42) was registered in 1855 in the Tradeston district.^[5]

Medical Entry: head came in contact with a bridge while working aboard a train

The death records for James indicate he died from a "severe laseration of the brain" further investigation revealed that he was struck in the head by a bridge as his train went under it.

Elizabeth Kay Malcolm had an older sister HELEN born 15 October 1846, in Gorbals, Lanark. Malcolm family information come from the research of Duncan Malcolm a cousin in Scotland.
