Mr. W. Macrow

The private funeral took place on Wednesday of Mr. William Macrow, chairman of directors of A. Macrow and Sons Pty. Ltd., furniture warehousemen of Flinders-street. Mr. Macrow, who was 86 years, was born in Ballarat, where he established a book selling business 60 years ago. He later moved to Melbourne, and specialised In the furniture and musical instrument trade, making many trips overseas. He took a keen and generous interest In youth work, and was a former vice-president of the Burwood Boys' Home, and of the Gordon Institute for Boys. He is survived by a widow and five children, Ethel (Mrs. Vernon Ransford), Zoe (England), Iris (Mrs. Campbell) and Messrs. Bobby and William R. F. Macrow.
