Thanks for doing so much work on my tree this past week!

Hello,

It appears you are making major changes to profile John Francis Page, which I manage, without any consult or discussion. Please provide sources or some discussion points for your changes. This is not how WikiTree works. You say, you have extensive research...please provide details, meanwhile, I have reversed your changes. Looking forward to your information. Thanks.

Your note: Francis Page AND Susannah Nelson HAVE BEEN REMOVED AS PARENTS BASED ON EXTENSIVE RESEARCH DONE ON BOTH THESE FAMILIES.

Hi!

I've been working on profiles stemming from US War projects that needed profiles built out and/or improved for veterans. As part of that research I have also been updating extended family profiles as well. All of my updates are based on reviewing (really looking at) records found on FamilySearch, Ancestry, Fold3, Newspapers.com, books, scanned bibles, historical societies, etc. And, specifically for this profile, the book that includes the Genealogy of the Page family. Page 88 shows the children of Francis Page & Susannah/Susan Nelson. John Francis Page is not listed, but rather the other profile for John Page (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Page-7120) is listed. That book can be found here: https://archive.org/details/genealogyofpagef00page/page/88/mode/1up?q=Anzolette

When I came across this one, I was not able to find any source records to link him to these parents. This is why I set it to "uncertain" and placed the note.

My sincere apologies for not reaching out prior to. I should have, and that's 100% on me. I'm so use to profiles either being orphaned or the profile manager is only there from a data upload many years ago. But, is still on 100% me for not reaching out. Was irresponsible of me.

Do you manage the other Page profiles linked to this one? Or is there another one you manage I've made adjustments to? If so, I'll immediately cease updating them and happy to back out anything I've updated thus far. Let me know which ones you'd like me to back info out of and I will get it done today.

Again, my apologies for not reaching out.

Hi Amy, the US Civil War Project is conducting a Check-in for 2024 to see if your still interested/active in the Project.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. You can click the reply button or message me with your answer. Thank you. Pam Kreutzer, leader of the US Civil War Project

Hi Pam! 100% interested! I've actually been working on some of the profiles that need biographies (where am able).
Thank you Amy for working on the Biographies, that helps so much to improve our Soldiers. I'm glad your remaining in the Project. Pam

Hi Amy, it's been a couple of weeks since asking if you wished to remain in the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'd appreciate you letting me know by the end of February if you desire to remain in the Project. If I haven't heard from you by then, I'll assume you no longer wish to participate. I hope to hear from you soon, thank you.

Sorry! My husband and I got COVID in late Jan - early Feb and I lost track of a lot of things. Please keep me in this project. I live just outside of Richmond, VA, am a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and once restrictions are lifted, have free access to their library here in Richmond. I hope to be a good resource for this project. Sorry again for the delay! Finally feeling human again ;-)
Amy glad your feeling better and that your staying in the project. The Project page has a few new stickers for your page if your interested. Pam

Hi Amy,

On Gladice (Barnhill) Wilkinson Dawes enrollment card and it seems that it was actually her mother that was Choctaw. Her father is listed as Jasper Barnhill (non citizen) and her mother as Emma Barnhill nee Lewis (9242). The enrollment card confirms her birth date as 20 Aug 1902 and the family lives in Gaines Co., Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (Gaines now lies split between modern Pittsburg Co. and Latimer Co. Oklahoma https://www.okhistory.org/images/research/IT.Choctaw.pdf). A note on the enrollment card states that evidence of the marriage between Jasper and Emma was presented and recorded at the same time as Gladice was enrolled by her parents, via the Dawes Commission, as a Choctaw. The marriage occurred 31 Dec 1901 in Indian Territory, Lic No. 2458, note that Emma's last name is incorrectly spelled 'Louis' on that record.

Other information on the enrollment card includes details that Gladice's mother Emma was the daughter of Isom Lewis (deceased, indicates he may have been Chickasaw) and Emiline Snider (formerly Lewis) nee Pulcher (deceased 4 Jun 1902, so not enumerated) and that Emiline was the daughter of Henry and Phoebe Pulcher. Emma's siblings are listed as well, Cornelia Maye Sparks nee Lewis (9241), Frank Lewis (9243), Sullivan Lewis (9244), Loren Lewis (9245), Beulah Snider (9246), Nettie Snider (9240), Eugene Snider (deceased).

I hope this information proves helpful to you.

Hi Amy,

Would you consider changing the privacy level of Gladice (Barnhill) Wilkinson to "open"? I'll be happy to make the above updates to the profile. At the least, the current profile categories need to be removed Category:Choctaw_Tribe_Project and Category:Choctaw_Nation_of_Oklahoma and replaced with Category:Choctaw_Nation

Thanks for considering this request.

Best,

Hi Amy, with regard to Hardaker-96 (William Hardaker), I take the point that you have seen a record of a William, christened on 28 Dec 1670 @ Guiseley St Oswald; father = James Hardaker Hardaker-158? Unfortunately that source does not seem to be available without a subscription, so I can't double check.

However, both Hardaker Family History website and Brian Hardaker (2009) https://web.archive.org/web/20141017182404/http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/a/r/Brian-Hardaker/FILE/0002page.html cite the same baptism date (28 Dec 1670), albeit with Hardaker-97 Rodger (1645–1745) as his father (not James).

I'm wondering how we can be sure that the same William son of James also = William senior, father of John (Hardaker-95) b. 1715 (Rawdon; married Sarah Smith and William junior (Hardaker-126) b. about 1720 (Rawdon; married Susannah Briggs)?

The Hardaker Family History website has Hardaker-96 William as the son of Hardaker-97 Rodger (1645–1745), see: http://hardakerfamily.id.au/getperson.php?personID=I27&tree=tree3 . While the HFH site is generally well-referenced, I must admit that they seem to have missed Hardaker-158 James.)

Brian Hardaker's 2009 article also does not mention a James at all, and lists "William, #28, yeoman of Rawdon, 1670-1736" (Hardaker-96) as a son of "Roger, #13 ... 1645-1725" (Wikitree Hardaker-97).

Obviously the lack of any mention of James Hardaker-158 elsewhere doesn't necessarily mean that he wasn't the father of Hardaker-96 William. But I do wonder if we have proof that Roger Hardaker-97 was not the father of a William, born around the same time as James' son?

Hi there! THANK YOU for reaching out. It cause me to go back and look at that document. I took for granted it was translated correctly. And, even though I had looked at it my eyes saw "James". When I zoomed in closely it is in fact "Roger"! I am not able to post the document here as I do not have an original copy and it is one that is on provided through a partnership with ancestry.com and the West Yorkshire Archive Service. I have posted the link to William below on my ancestry tree if you would like to see the document. Again, THANK you for pointing this out. I am going to update and initiate merges were needed.

Hi Amy, just concerned as to why you are removing all of Abraham Barnes' family ???
posted by Donald Barnes
Hi Donald - after receiving a private message from a Barnes descendant I did further research, realizing the Abraham Barnes from Rowan, North Carolina is NOT the Abraham Barnes who is the spouse of the Temperance Taylor from Kentucky. He has the same name and approximate date of birth but is not the same one. Therefore, I removed all of the children of Temperance who were born in Kentucky from that Abraham. If we can find proof that Abraham from Rowan, NC is in fact the one who married Temperance I'll be happy to link them back together. To date I have found no such proof.

Hi Amy,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The England Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
