ISLE OF WIGHT OBSERVER Saturday 30th January 1904 DEATH OF MR. P. SCOTT CONACHER.- Our obituary records the death of a well-known and much-respected inhabitant of High Park, Mr P. Scott CONACHER, which took place on the 27th inst. Mr CONACHER, who had resided at High Park for about 25 years, had been failing somewhat of late, but his health seemed to have rather improved during the last few weeks, and on Sunday last he was at his son's house, in apparently better health than usual. He was about on Tuesday, but on Wednesday morning at five o'clock he had some sort of heart seizure. He became unconscious, and died shortly before eleven o'clock on Wednesday morning. Mr CONACHER was noted as a very clever naturalist and taxidermist, (an occupation he had followed for 50 years) and the clever and life-like manner in which he could pose birds and animals secured him orders from all parts. He will be greatly missed in High Park, and by many friends to whom his genial and kindly manners had endeared him. he deceased was a native of Shipley, Yorkshire, and a nephew of the late Rev. P. SCOTT, of that place.
