Margaret was born in 1730 and baptised 12 July, 1730.[1].
She was the daughter of William Laidlaw and Bessie or Betsie Scott. She passed away after 1812.[2]

Margaret was a cousin of Scotts Factor William Laidlaw and imparted many of her tales and stories to Sir Walter Scott, but was somewhat disgruntled at what was lost in his translation.
