I am a retired class I Steam or Power Engineer living in British Columbia Canada. I have an extensive family tree of the Quebec Labossiere line with most branches reliably traced to the origins in France. I am descended from at least 37 Filles du Roi and can verify all of these links. I am further descended from at least 9 Carignan Soldiers. I am still working on my very old Quebec ancestry, but so far have found that I am directly descended from 20 Filles à Marier.
I have been working on an extensive one name study of the Labossiere family in Canada and the United States for many years. My plan is to follow each branch from our first Canadian ancestor's marriage in 1720 at Contrecoeur forward on every male line that I can find to at least 1930 to 1950 or more recent if records are available. It is hoped that anyone wishing to trace their Labossiere heritage backwards will be able to do so to at least as far as I have come forward and so tie into my work. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Père Joseph Alphonse Paul Claude dit Laboissiere, OFM, 1901 - 1962, who produced the original 1957 Labossiere family tree. I hope to eventually have all of this work added to WikiTree. Unfortunately, there are some dead ends where records have not been found.
My maternal line goes back many generations through Wales and into England, primarily Turners and Windsors, in Gloucestershire and Somersetshire, but of course many other surnames such as Paine and Wiggett also feature prominently. My wife and I have been privileged to visit many of these areas several times. The old original family home, Nantygleisiad Cottage, Resolven, Wales, still stands and has been recently renovated. I have posted a wonderful photo of my mother in front of the home about 1914. It is believed that it was originally an old farmhouse and may date to the 1850's or so.
French (Laboissière): Norman habitational name from a common village name La Boissière, meaning wooded area, from bois wood. (Laboissière): possibly a metronymic, from a feminine derivative of Bossier cooper, denoting the wife of the cooper.

New here so any help with the LaBossiere line in Canada will be greatly appreciated. I am in Massachusetts so the line from Cleophas LaBossiere (who settled in Marlbourough, Ma) to the present I can help fill in some of the gaps you may have. I am through his son Eugene > Eugene Jr > Wilfred > Wilfred Jr (my father). Kristine
the last name Chateauneuf did not transfer in the merge. Do you know the correct full name?
Thank you for your comments on my page! I see that you are as committed to finding as much as possible about your ancestors as I (and my late father) am. I recognize ALL of the names in your list, especially the Morin name.
It is nice to find family!
Your offer to help on my tree is very appreciated. I do not have any subscriptions and do most of my work on smartphone. I have mostly French Canadian ancestors. I know we are only 8th cousins so may not have any DNA match over 7cm, but who knows?? Perhaps you can download your DNA test results to Gedmatch to get an ID so it is easy to check. Thank you for your offer to help. Your 8th cousin Angela Boyer-3525
