Biography

Alexander was born in 1723. He passed away in 1760. He may also have been known as Charles.

Alexander Kelso Sr. married Mary Blair who gave birth to Alexander Jr., Hugh, Margaret, and Mary. The senior Alexander was known as Reverend Alexander because he had been commissioned as a missionary to the Native Americans of Greenbriar Valley, Virginia where he had a land grant.[1] Both Alexander and Mary were killed while their children were very young and their boys went to live with their Uncle Hugh Kelso, He arrived in New Hampshire in 1738.

Another story is that "in about 1763, Charles Kelso and his wife, Mary Blair Kelso, died of 'malignant fever' apparently at their home near Long Glade on the North Shenandoah River. They left four young children: Alex 9, Mary 7, Hugh 5 and Margaret 4 (approximate ages)." The record of his uncle Hugh becoming guardian of young Hugh was said to have been in Waddells Annals and the records of Augusta County, but no record of this guardianship has been found.[2]

Alexander was born in 1723. He passed away in 1760. [3]
