Biography

Alexander is estimated to have been born about 1705, probably in Perthshire.

Only one baptismal entry shows any place information, that for Agnes in the Port of Menteith register - when they are shown as living at Auchensalt. This lies between Ruskie and Thornhill, directly north of Easter Borland, very close to the boundary between Port of Menteith and Kincardine parishes.^[1]

Several baptims of Alexander and Kaitrin's children show witnesses: George Keir, John Stirling, William & Samuel Junkins.
