This is the last w and t of Samuel Hole of Topsham in the County of Devon Gentleman ( after clearing his funeral expenses etc ) I give and devise unto my eldest son William Marshall Hole all that messuage tenement or dwelling house wherein I live together with the garden and close of Sand??? Adjoining and belonging now in my own possession together also with the dwelling house smith's shop and herb garden also adjoining and now in the possession of ___ Gover as tenant thereof  ?? ?? ??? ?? situate lying and being at Southbrook in the parish of Topsham aforesaid to have and to hold the said ( messuages etc ) unto my said son William Marshall Hole his heirs and assigns for ever. Also I give and devise unto my son Henry Colmer Hole all those fields or closes of land with their appurts. Situate in the said parish of Topsham now in the several possessions of Mr. Rutter and Mr. Galsworthy as my tenants and which I purchased of Mr. Cawley ( to have for ever etc. ) Also I give and bequeathe unto my youngest son Samuel Hole the sum of £2000 of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto him at the age of twenty one years together with the interest and proceeds thereof in the mean time. Also I give and bequeathe unto my eldest son the said William Marshall Hole all my rings together with one pair of my stout(?) knee buckles. Also I give unto my second son the said Henry Colmer Hole my late brother's watch together with the gold chain and seals. Also I give to my youngest son the said Samuel Hole my silver watch chain and seals and my other pair of stout(?) knee buckles. Also I give and bequeathe all my plate linen china my books household goods and implements of household unto my said three sons equally between them share and share alike. Also all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate monies and securities for money whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before by me given and disposed of (subject nonetheless to the settlement made on my dear wife previous to my marriage with her and also to the payment of my just debts  ??? and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeathe the same and every part thereof unto my said two sons William Marshall Hole and Henry Colmer Hole equally between them share and share alike and I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my two brothers William Hole of Woodbury, Farmer, and John Hole of Cullompton in the said county, Gentleman, executors of this my last w and t
( and he puts his executors in charge of estate management til the boys reach their majority ) And I do hereby will and appoint that my said dear wife Ann Hole and my said executors ( act as guardians of the three sons and are reimbursed from the estate for any costs of education and professional training etc ) ( further if Ann remarries she is no longer a guardian to the sons and the executors take over sole responsibility

CODICIL
Whereas in and by my last w and t bearing date of 11th July 1795 I have given my son Samuel Hole the sum of £2000 and other property as therein mentioned Now I do hereby revoke ?? ??? ?? such part of my said will as relates to my said son Samuel Hole and all and every the bequests thereby made to him and in lien and stead thereof I hereby give and devise unto my said son Samuel Hole all that my messuage Goncourt(?) Barton and farm of or called Co____oy which I lately purchased of Mr ??? Par??? And others situate lying and being in the parish of Broad Clyst in the County of Devon to hold the same with all and singular its rights members appurts. Unto and to the use of my said son Samuel Hole his heirs and assigns for ever. And whereas since making my said will my son Henry Colmer Hole is dead now I do hereby give and devise those fields or closes of land in Topsham aforesaid thereby given to living(?) unto my eldest son William Marshall Hole to hold
( for ever and ever etc )
And for as much as my dear wife is now pregnant I hereby give and bequeathe unto my trustees and executors in trust named in my said will the sum of £2000 of lawful money of Great Britain to ?? upon trust for such child or children with which my wife is now pregnant and to be payable and paid to such child or children at his or their age or ages of twenty one and with full power and authority to manage and ??? the same at interest during his or their minority and also to advance any part of the principal for his or their education or advancement in such and the same way as is by my said will given with respect to the money thereby given to my said son Samuel Hole ( if the unborn die before maturity this money goes into Samuel's residual estate )
I hereby give and bequeathe the same unto my said sons William Marshall Hole and Samuel Hole equally between them share and share alike
