In the 1851 census Sarah (age 9), Scholar, was the daughter of Andrew Hewitson in Bankton Main, Mid Calder, Midlothian.[4]
ARRIVAL: Her brother Robert is noted as having arrived in 1859 aboard the Sevilla. It is reasonable to presume this was the arrival from Scotland of all the family members. The barque Sevilla embarked 19 Aug 1859 from the Clyde, Glasgow arriving Port Chalmers (Dunedin, N.Z.) 1 Dec 1859.[5]
Sarah married David Dunn in 1868 in New Zealand.[6]
Sarah & David, in addition to their own children, raised Christina, their niece.
Sarah died on 13 July 1919 and was buried in Ōamaru Old Cemetery, Ōamaru, Otago, New Zealand.[7][8]
