Baptism

George Hendriesone was baptized on 4 May 1662 in the Church of Scotland Parish of North Berwick^[1]. His father is recorded on the Register as George Hendriesone. One of the witnesses was William Hendriesone, presumably a relative (uncle?). North Berwick is on the north coast of Haddingtonshire about 10 miles north of Dunbar.

Marriage

George Henderson (sic) married Priscilla Spence on 22 July 1686 in the Church of Scotland Parish of Dunbar^[2]. Their respective residences (parishes etc) and the presence of witnesses were not recorded.

This identification of George Hendryson as father to Janet and Isobell Henryson is conjectural. There are three other possible men whose baptisms are recorded in the registers of the Church of Scotland parishes in Haddingtonshire who may be the husband of Priscilla Spence and father of Janet and Isobell. They are:
