Biography

John Hanson was born in about July 1756 in Greetland, near Elland, Yorkshire, England the son of John Hanson of Greetland. He was baptised on 25 July 1756 at St Mary's church, Elland, Yorkshire.[1][2]

Marriage
John married Elizabeth Gibson of Bradley on 17 April 1775 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. One of the witnesses was Thomas Gibson.[3][4]


Death
John died in Rastrick aged 64, in August 1820 and was buried on 11 August 1820 at St Mary's church, Elland, Yorkshire.[5] John's estate passed probate on 1821, JUN. His last residence was Halifax, Yorkshire, England.[6]

  • There are at least two other John Hansons' around Elland within a couple of years of this one. This makes it hard to sort out family. (Norton-10741)
