We find Charles, on the night of the Census Record of 1841, living with his wife Susannah "Susan" (Babstock); their children Joseph, Mary and George (Hanham) and Agricultural Labourer George (Whiteman) at Blackford Street, in the Village of Blackford, near Wincanton, Wincanton District, Somerset, England[4]. However, by 1851, he has lost his wife Susannah "Susan" (Babstock) and is living as a widower with children children Mary, George and Elizabeth (Hanham) at Mead Cottages, in the Village of Blackford, Wincanton District, Somerset, England[5].
Occupation
The Census of 1841 records Charles' occupation as being a Cooper and by the time of his death, he also has become a Pig Dealer.
Death/Burial
Charles (Hanham) passes away on the 4 October 1863 in the Village of Maperton, situated 3 miles (4.8 km) southwest of the Town of Wincanton, in the District of Wincanton, Somerset, England. He was around 58 years old at the time and the cause of death will be on the Death Certificate. However, his surname is incorrectly spelt as "Hannam" on the Certificate[6]. His burial takes place on the 9 October 1863 in the Parish Churchyard of Saint Michael, in the Village of Blackford, 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of the Town of Wincanton, and north of the Village of Milborne Port, in the Parish of Blackford in South Somerset, England[7][8].

HANHAM Charles. 4 November. The Will of Charles Hanham, late of Maperton in the County of Somerset, Cooper and Pig Dealer deceased who died 4 October 1863 at Maperton aforesaid was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of Mary Lloyd (wife of Richard Lloyd, Carpenter) of Maperton aforesaid the Daughter the sole Executrix. Effects: Under 600 pounds[9].
