Biography

William Hall, son of William Hall and Dorcas Rhodes, was born in 1720 in Charlestown, Providence Plantations, Rhode Island, British Colonial America. [1]

On 14 July 1744 at twenty-four years of age William wed Sarah Kenyon at Charlestown. [2] [3] Sarah and William had a daughter:

  1. Dorcas (Hall) Stetson, born in 1748 in Kings county, Rhode Island. [4]

William Hall died on 16 March 1780 at sixty years of age in Hopkinton, Kings county, Rhode Island Colony. [5]

Geographical historical note

Kings county was created from Providence Plantations in 1729; it was renamed Washington County on 29 October 1781, in honour of General and President George Washington. [6]
Rhode Island Colony became a state of the Union on 29 May 1790.
