Hi Laurence,

I noticed that you're working on pre-1700-era profiles, such as Bradgate-14, without adding reliable sources. This is another reminder that certifying to work on these types of profiles means that you agree to add valid sources at the time of profile creation, as outlined in the Pre-1700 Certification Quiz. Adding a possible baptism is fine as long as you have at least one verified reliable source. Please don't create any more pre-1700 profiles without a reliable source.

If you need help with this, our G2G Forum is a great place to start. You can get there by clicking the link on the Help menu.

Thanks you, Francesca

Hi, Laurence, I noticed that you have been creating some Pre-1700 profiles without sources or without Pre-1700 reliable sources. It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile. Laura

Hello Laurence, I see you have added quite a number of older profiles that still don't have sources. I suggest you could stop adding profiles at this time, and work on those existing profiles. I've sent you a private message with some tips on how to find those sources. ~ Deb
Thank you for the list, that's a big help - I will get to these as soon as possible. My time is quite limited so I usually only get to work extensively on Wikitree a few times a month. I hope there is not a time limit that I need to add sources by?

Hi Laurence

Thanks self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree, I do recommend taking the Orphan Trail, it is a great learning experience. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members, and please cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage or edit, and have a look at our Sources page
