Biography

Isabel Gibson was born at Tudhoe Colliery, Durham, England on the 25th August 1886.^[1][2] She was the daughter of George Gibson and Elizabeth (Raffell) Gibson.

On the 1891 census, Isabel (aged 4) lived at Tudhoe Colliery, Tudhoe, Durham with her parents George & Elizabeth Gibson and her siblings Thomas, (20) Margaret, (18) John, (13) Joseph, (8) Elizabeth E, (6) Mary J, (2) and George. (10mo)^[3]

In 1901, 14 year old Isabella Gibson was living with her parents at 70 Front Street, Tudhoe Colliery, and her siblings Thomas, (30) John, (13) Joseph, (18) Ellen E, (16) Mary J, (12) and George. (10)^[4]

She married William Lawson in the September quarter of 1905 in Durham Registration District.^[5]

The 1911 census shows William and Isabel Lawson living at 164 Old Row, Page Bank, Spennymoor, Durham. The census record showed they had been married for five years and had had two children born alive, but one had died. Their surviving child, Edna, was aged 2.^[6]

Isabel died in August 1916, where her age was recorded as 29^[7]. She was buried at Tudhoe Cemetery, Tudhoe, on the 19th August 1916. ^[8]
