Biography

Frank "Howard" Georgeson was born in 1914^[1] and lived on his father's homestead farm near Avonlea, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was the son of Danish Minister and farmer Otto Andersen and Christina Hansen. ^[2] After the house burnt down on the farm the family moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. ^[3]

About 1938 Howard married Alvina Osborne. Howard served as a Sergeant in World War ll in the RCAF. He was an airplane engine mechanic from 1940 until Sept. 1945. Around 1941 they adopted Alvina's niece (who is still living 2021). During the war, Howard served in Manston, England, United Kingdom keeping the planes running and the runways clear. He fell off of the wing of an airplane rescuing a pilot and had a lifelong limp. The bombing was very bad and he had severe nightmares ongoing. Alvina passed away about 1946 in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. Their adopted daughter went to live with Howard's parents for awhile. Otto and Christina were very sorry to see her leave them after Howard remarried.

Howard married Georgia Ann McGarvey in 1946 at the Airbase in Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.^[4] Howard met Georgia in Fort Nelson where she was working as a clerk/stenographer in the Women's Army Corps. Howard returned to service as a Flight Sergeant in the Air Force until Dec. 1964. They lived on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada (CFB Uplands) and had four more children; three daughters and a son. They later moved to Victoria, BC. When the children were older, Howard and Georgia separated and divorced.

Howard passed away in Royal Jubilee Hospital in 1996 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada at 81 yrs. of age. He is buried in the Veterans Cemetery in Victoria, Capital Regional District, British Columbia, Canada.^[5][6]
