It is surprising that no baptismal record for Edmund Fisher, son of Edmund Fisher and his wife, Sarah Trott, has yet been found, but Cambridge Alumni gives his death as the 8th of December 1851 aged 77 giving a birth year of about 1774. [1]The Census of 1851 gives his place of birth as Duxford where his father was the Rector. By the terms of his grandfather, Richard Trott's, will Edmund inherited the manor of Bustelers at Duxford in Cambridgeshire. [2]
Edmund was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge obtaining a BA in 1797 and his MA in 1800. Ordained deacon in 1797 he became his father's curate at Linton and after he was ordained priest took over the living as Vicar of Linton in 1800. [1]
He married Mary Collin, daughter of John Collin and his wife, Ann Martin at Saffron Walden on the 18th of November 1800. [3]Together they had four children before Mary's untimely death in 1807. [4]
There was a pleasant family gathering at Linton on the 1st of November 1839 when his son, Richard Trot Fisher, brought his daughter, Augusta Maria, home to Linton to be baptised. [5]
By 1851 Edmund was living alone in the High Street at Linton, apart from his five servants. [6]He died late in 1851. [7]
