Notes
John Paul's father was Edward Martelli, an Italian to whom Henrietta Jefferys was engaged. She was motherless at the time. He was willing to marry her when it became apparent that she was pregnent, but had lost interest in her. Her family felt that it would be wrong for the marriage to go ahead and the engagement was broken off. John Paul lived with the Jeffreys and used the name of John Jeffreys until after his mother married Frederick Every and his eldest sister was born. He was then told the position, went to live with his Mother; and assumed the name Every.

Read through her write up. Had a look and found a profile on here for Francesco but is unsourced. With the succeeding generation where uncertainty lies on who the father is, there is a profile for Norton which also is unsourced but there is nothing for a 'John' which is referenced in the article As for the generation which would connect either Norton or John to Edward... the common opinion that I've come across is that it is Horatio and Marguerite which does not appear to the case according to this.
