1850 Census. Jobe was married to Mary Shinn and they were living in Harrson, Virginia. He was 48 and she was 43 and they were both born in Virginia. There were four daughters and one son in the home at this time. They were Mariah age 17; Jeremiah age 14; Malvera age 12; Sarah age 5 and Phela Shinn age 2.[2]
