Francis was born in 1869, a twin of Anna Bella Catherine Driscoll.[1] He is the son of George Driscoll and Mary Tolmie. He never married and was a billiard room proprietor. He served in the New Zealand Army in Second Boer War - he embarked for South Africa on 19 April 1902 as a Private in the 8th New Zealand Mounted Rifles, 10th Contingent, South Island Regiment, H Squadron. Service number: 9508.[2][3] He died in 1934.[4] Probate the same year.[5] He was buried in Hamilton East Cemetery, New Zealand on 24 Feb 1934 - location: HEC-SLD1-C-139.[6][7]
