Hello Jacqueline,

Do you have any advice on how to find primary sources for Benjamin Barnett, Jr.? Although this profile lists sources, it is not well attested. Thank you in advance for any details you may be able to add.

Best, Marion

Thank you Wendy for the Golden Achievement Milestone. I have actually been stalled for a year due to my illness and Dad's death. I just renewed my subscription to a bunch of stuff and my daughter will do the DNA. Thank you for the encouragement.

Registration begins soon for the January thon. I will be reminding you when it is time to register, but I have some news that will be helpful when that time comes. I have been told that we will be trying a new registration system. When you go in to register, it will not be just making a comment as in the past. The new system will have sections for each team. You will just find the Legacy Heirs one and post to that one.

Hey,

Here is a list of all 4 thons next year:

Connect-a-Thon Jan 19-22

Connect-a Thon Apr 12-15

Connect-a Thon Jul 19-22

Source-a-Thon Oct 4-7

That means the first Thon of the year will be a Connect-a-Thon on the weekend of the 19 - 22 Jan 2024. I would love to have you with your fellow Legacy Heirs at that time, if it works out for you. I will remind you about registration when that time comes.

P.S. I now know a quick and easy little tip on how to add profiles. If you use the Sourcer/Searcher app, and want to know the hint, let me know and I will send you the steps.

Good morning Jacqueline,

Hope all is well with you and yours.

I noticed on Jarratt-14 that you attempted to remove the Unsourced template while adding sources. That's awesome... the sources are a great addition to that profile! 😀

Just wanted to give a heads up that, when removing the Unsourced template, the whole thing should be removed. For example, removing the word 'Unsourced' but leaving {{|Yorkshire}} behind will cause database errors to be generated. I went ahead removed the rest of the template.

Feel free to peep my edit if the above is confusing.

Thanks for all you do, Jeff

Hi Jacqueline

Thank you for joining the Mighty Oaks for the Connect-a-Thon. The 65 members who joined our teams were awesome. Our two teams added 12,905 profiles over the weekend. The Branches Team came second and the Roots Team came forth in the overall scores. Both teams were also in the top ten in the normalised scores. I hope you enjoyed it and will be joining us in April when we do it all over again.

Joan, Maddy, Janet & Fran.

I am a descendant of Harriet Harper and William Blewitt. I have just joined Wikitree in order to take part in a challenge and Harriet is my closest ancestor who already has a profile. I am going to start my Wikitree experience by linking myself to Harriet.

I am so happy to have such a beautiful entry to start with. Are we cousins?

Dear Jake,

We hope you are enjoying your time in the Orphan Trail Team; even if you are currently taking a Pause or waiting to be buddied up with a Trailblazer. We are pleased that you decided to join us and on behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!

We are looking forward to you joining one of our other collaborative and energetic teams once you complete the Trail.

I'd also like to share our annual Newsletter with you. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading a bit about what has gone on in 2022 and what our Project has achieved.

The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members every 6 months just to make sure everything is going well. There's no need to reply to this message unless you have something you'd like to let us know about (e.g. if you would like to provide us with feedback about the Trail or the project). We will be in touch with you again in the middle of next year when we do our annual check-in with project members.

On behalf of all the Leaders, I wish you a peaceful and productive 2023.

Best wishes,

Susie, England Project Leader

Hi Jacqueline,

On behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the project's goals over the past year. Every English profile we improve helps!

The England Project Leaders are currently doing our six-monthly check-in with all project members.

Are you happy to with your current project team choices? Are there other teams you would like to join or become more active in?

We also welcome any feedback on things you would like to see the project do more of in the future.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message.

Thanks so much Amelia. It's been great working with you over the last year.

Canada is very much a bipolar world. In the winter we hibernate (it starts soon); in the summer we hit the lakes, boat, camp, waterski, have festivals in every little town. I have been busy travelling around Alberta and Saskatchewan this spring and summer. I had to spend six weeks in hospital three hours drive from my home. I didn't have access to com for 3 months at home and access to com in hospital was limited. Here we have had network outages on Rogers due to hacking; my Telus network has been down from tornadoes, high winds, ducks hitting the transformers... I'll be back soon and looking forward to working with the England Project on the OT over our six months of hibernation.... Jackie

Jacqueline,

Thank you for contributing to the March 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.

Hi Jacqueline,

Thank you for the Best Answer star on the G2G. I couldn't find a way to tag you there.

Have a blessed weekend. :)

It was a difficult question and well beyond me, but I thought your answer provided a perfect explanation and I learned something new today. The anomalies and uncertainties in our biology is what makes us unique individuals.

Most of the DNA stuff is well beyond me, but this is one issue that is very near and frustrating to me. I took the mtDNA test to help break through my brick wall matrilineal 2nd great-grandmother. She was allegedly adopted. My Gen 0 match has a brick wall at his maternal grandma. The only one with a US EKA (Gen 1 and recent history), folks can't seem to decide on that ancestor's married name.

I know that we should all embrace our uniqueness, but it sure is aggravating to be surrounded by brick walls.

I hope the poster of the question will be able to find his answers. :)

Hi Jacqueline,

It has been suggested that you join the England Project to do the Orphan Trail.

Hi Jacqueline,

I have just made a correction on a number of your profiles, all featuring the same problem. When you take a link from FreeBMD you cannot use the *Wikipedia* (WP) cite template that they so helpfully supply because *WikiTree* (WT) doesn't use exactly the same systems. On WP the cite template—the double open curly braces followed by the word 'cite'—is actually a very complex beast that cannot just be copied over for use to use on WT. Sadly this means that we cannot use it here.

I actually found your profiles because you had left the trailing double close curly braces and they got flagged up in an error report, I haven't looked at your other profiles to see if there are further instances where you deleted the trailing braces, so it is possible that you still have some malformed links that need reformatting. If you take a look at the edits I made to your profiles, then I'm sure you will be able to understand what I did and apply the same to any of your other profiles.

I hope that you find this useful, it really is one of those things that you only find out about when it goes wrong.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

Kind regards, Geoff

Hi Jacqueline

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi again Jacqueline,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
