Biography

John was born in 1881. He was the son of John Henry Davidson and Alice Julia Ann Smyth.
He was at Eton in 1894. He emigrated to Canada in 1907. By 1910 had bought the Art Emporium in Vancouver and ran this business to 1915.^[1]
He married 1st, 24 Jul 1913, Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Rossetti "Winnie" Winterbon, age 28, b. England, daughter of Arthur Henry Winterbon (1855-1901) & (Edith) Henrietta Last (marr. Q2 1883, Billericay, Essex, England^[2]) - she was probably born Nellie Rosetta Winterbon, b. Q4 1884, Colchester dist., Essex.^[3] She died in 1926 and was buried in Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, B.C.^[4]
He married 2nd, 1930, Washington State, USA, Alberta Jane Mitchell (b. 23 Feb 1899, Portland, OR, USA, d. 31 Mar 1983, Seattle, WA, USA).
He passed away in 1931 in Seattle and was buried in Vancouver. His occupation was given as librarian. He is also commemorated on his parents' and grandparents' gravestone in Dean Cemetery, Edinburgh, Scotland.
