Rebecca, daughter of John Courtis & Joan, was baptised on 20 May 1810 in Kenwyn, Cornwall, England.[1]
Rebecca married David McIlwraith on 13 October 1833 in Kenwyn, Cornwall, England.[2]
Rebecca's first husband died young in 1839 and she remarried in 1846 to Thomas Hoskin Glasson. [3]
In the 1851 census Rebecca (age 41) was the wife of Thomas H Glasson in Kenwyn, Cornwall, England. Her son William from her first marriage was recorded living in the same household. [4]
Research notes
Rebecca might be wrongly recorded on the 1841 census as Rachel McIlwraith in Kenwyn with her son William. She was widowed by this time and although the first name is wrong the ages for her and her son are correct and it would make sense for her to be living close to other family members as a young widow.
