Elizabeth (Coombe) Blagdon was born in Belstone, Devon, England.

Elizabeth Anne Coombe was born about 1871 in Belstone, Devon, England ^[1] and was christened on 9 July 1873 in Hessenford, Cornwall, England. ^[2] She is the daughter of John Coombe and Elizabeth (Pike) Coombe.

In the 1871 Census, baby Elizabeth was living with her parents Elizabeth (aged 23) and John Coombe (aged 30 and employed as an Agricultural Labourer) in Sticklepath, Sampford Courtenay, Devonshire, England ^[3] with her brother Samuel Coombe aged 2.

In the 1881 Census, Elizabeth (aged 10) was living with her parents John (a Farm Labourer aged 41) and Elizabeth (aged 30) Coomb in St Johns, Cornwall, England ^[4] along with her siblings:
