John Christie was born in Scotland.
John was born on 15 Jan 1848, and baptised 26 Jan 1848 in Crail, Fife, Scotland. He was the son of John Christie and Janet Hodge Robertson. [1]
In the 1851 census John (age 3) was the son of John Christie in Er Pitcorthie Cot Ho, Kilrenny, Fife.[2]
In the 1861 census John (age 13), Scholar, was the son of John Christie in East Pittcorthie & Farm Offices, Kilrenny, Fife.[3]
In 1864, John was in a UK, Royal Hospital Chelsea Pensioner Soldier Service record. He served in the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry). [4]
He married Magdalene Anderson on 6 Feb 1869, in Kilrenny, Fife, Scotland. [5]
Magdalene passed away on 20 May 1875, in Kilconquhar, Fife, Scotland.
In the 1871 census John (age 23), Ploughman, was the head of household in St Sord Cottan Hou, Kilconquhar, Fife.[6]
He married Margaret Grant on 31 Mar 1876, in Carnbee, Fife, Scotland. [7]
