John Christie was born in Scotland.
John was born on 24 May 1869, in Kilrenny, Fife, Scotland. He was the son of John Christie and Magdalene Anderson. [1]
His mother passed away on 20 May 1875, four days short of his sixth birthday.
In the 1881 census John (age 11), Scholar, was the son of John Christie in Sypsies Cothouse, Crail, Fife, Scotland. He was the step-son of Margaret Christie, nee Grant. [2]
In the 1891 census John (age 22), Electrical Engineer, was the visitor of James Morris on Clunie Ho Park Avenue, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.[3]
He married Isabella Thomson Ross in about 1897, in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
In the 1901 census John (age 31), Coachman, was the head of household at 265 Broad St, Glasgow St Clement, Lanarkshire.[4]
