Biography

Noel Edward Noel-Buxton, 1st Baron Noel-Buxton was born on 9 January 1869. He was the son of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 3rd Bt. and |Lady Victoria Noel.

He married Lucy Edith Burn, daughter of Major Henry Pelham Burn and Janet Edith Orr Ewing, on 30 April 1914.

He died on 12 September 1948 at age 79, Westminster, London, England

He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England. He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.) He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Whitby between 1905 and 1906. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for North Norfolk between 1910 and 1918. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for North Norfolk between 1922 and 1930. He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1924. He held the office of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries in 1924. He held the office of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1929 and 1930. He was created 1st Baron Noel-Buxton, of Aylsham, co. Norfolk [U.K.] on 17 June 1930.
