Charles Roden Buxton was born on 27 November 1875. He was the son of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 3rd Bt. and Lady Victoria Noel.

He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.) He was a practising barrister.
Offices
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ashburton in 1910. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Accrington between 1922 and 1923. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Elland between 1929 and 1931
Marriage
He married Dorothy Frances Jebb, daughter of Arthur Trevor Jebb, on 11 August 1904.
Death
He died on 16 December 1942 at age 67.
