William was born and Baptised15 Mar 1833Ashwell, Rutland, England, the son of William Bullivant and Hannah Kirshaw Greeves. [1]

Married Mary Austin, 21 Jun 1864, St. Benedict's, Glastonbury, Somersetshire [2]

In 1867, they emigrated to Australia, becoming squatters in Wimmera District, Victoria. [3]

    PERSONAL.
    Mr. William Hose Bullivant, who died on Saturday at his residence, "Katandra" Walsh St. South Yarra, was born in the village of Ashwell Rutlandshire, England in 1833.In 1864 he married the eldest daughter of Mr. James Austin of Glastonbury Abbey, Somersetshire. They came to Victoria in 1867,and from that time Mr Bullivant engaged in pastoral pursuits. For the last 12 years he lived on Yeo Station, near Colac He was an active member of the shire council, and held the commission of the peace for over 30 years. He leaves a widow and two sons and three daughters, all grown up. The funeral took place at the Eastern Cemetery Geelong, on Monday, and there was a large attendance including prominent Western district identities. The pall bearers were Messrs S. Austin, M.L.C.,L.W.Calvert, W Cobb, E Lascelles, George Robinson,and R. Pincott.

    OBITUARY.
    The death occurred on Saturday of the well-known and successful grazier, Mr. W. Hose Bullivant, who expired at his town residence, "Katandra," Walsh-street, South Yarra, an the age of 67. The late Mr. Bullivant was the proprietor of Longerenoug station and Yeo, Irrewarra, and was a well known figure in Horsham and elsewhere in the Wimmera, and especially at district shows, at which he was a successful exhibitor of high bred sheep.
