Caroline (Broomfield) Bunting was born in the City of London, England.

Caroline Broomfield, daughter of William and Betsy, was born on 28 November 1837 in Poplar, London, England. [1] She was baptised on 24 December 1837 in St Mary, Bow, Stratford, Middlesex. [2]

In 1840 Caroline (age 3) emigrated to Australia on the ship "Coromandel" with her family: parents, William (age 33, Wool Sorter, Co Surry) and Elizabeth (age 32, Shoe Binder, Bristol), and sisters, Elizabeth Mary (5) and Matilda (infant). [3] [4]

Caroline married Jabez Bunting in 1855 in Pitt St, Sydney. [5] [6] It was reported in the newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) Wed 22 Aug 1855 Page 8 Family Notices [7]

August 21st, at the Unitarian Congregational Church, Macquarie-street, by the Rev. G. H. Stanley, B.A., Mr. Jabez Bunting, of Brickfield-hill, to Miss Caroline Broomfield, of the Glebe.

Caroline and Jabez had 5 children:
