Biography
Ruth was born in 1833, based on the 1841 and 1851 England Census' to William and Charlotte Broomfield.
In 1851 she was working as a servant in the household of John and Jane Pavey, a farmer, in Stockland, Devon. This is likely where she met Robert Bishop.
She married Robert Bishop in 1854. "Nov.23rd. Robert Bishop of full age, bachelor, labourer residing in Buckland St Mary. Father John Bishop, labourer and Ruth Broomfield of full age, spinster residing in Buckland St Mary. Father William Broomfield, Yeoman" They had six children.
Following the death of Robert, Ruth married Edward Fone in 1874. They had one child. "14th July. Edward Fone of full age, bachelor, labourer of Princess Street, Taunton. Father: Thomas Fone, mason and Ruth Bishop, widow of Princess Street, Taunton. Father: William Broomfield, labourer"
