Margaret Bremner was born about 1830 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 29 September 1830.[1]
In 1851 Margaret is recorded on the census as living in Bilbster, in the parish of Watten, Caithness, with her father Alexander and siblings William, Alexander Junior, Elizabeth, Magnus, Christina and Catherine. Elizabeth's trade was house servant. Also living with the family was a journeyman shoemaker, David Gunn.[2]
