In the 1841 Census the family is listed under the surname Blews. Thomas is one, his father John is listed as 50 year old Fisherman. Elizabeth is listed as 30 year old. He has a sister Elizabeth And two step-siblings Alexander aged nine and William aged five. [2]
In the 1851 Census Thomas and his family are living in Fore Street, Johnshaven, Kincardineshire. He is an 11 year old scholar. His 60-year-old Dad is still working as a White Fisherman. His step-siblings have left but his full siblings, Jessie age 7, Elizabeth 4 and John 2 are living there. [3]
The family is still in Fore Street, Johnshaven at the time of the next census. Thomas is now 20 and a Whitefisher like his Dad. [4]
Thomas Blues married Jane Mackie on the 7 October 1870, Benholm. [5]
