Searching GRO for Mary's birth registration shows 3 possibilities in St Pancras. The second entry, refers to the daughter of Mary Ann Hensher Bishop <Hensher-3> and Thomas Bishop (occupation Cordwainer) Therefore the Baptism shown here may be incorrect.

Mary, daughter of Thomas Bishop (Shoemaker) & Mary Ann Bishop, of Chenies St was born 24 April then baptised on 18 May 1839 in Old St Pancras, St Pancras, Camden, England.^[1] Because This Thomas Bishop is identified as "Shoemaker" equaling Cordwainer, we may determine this is not the same Thomas (the Baker) Bishop-16729. Therefore the Mary Hensher referred to in the GRO may not be the same Mary as claims Spain as her birthplace in the 1851 Census.

Mary, daughter of Thomas Bishop & Mary Ann, was born on 24 April 1839 and baptised on 18 May 1839 at Old Church, Saint Pancras, London, England.^[2] Because of the doubt raised by the above records, Thomas Bishop (A cordwainer) is replacing Thomas Bishop (a Baker)

In the 1841 England Census Mary daughter of Thomas and Mary born in Middlesex in 1838 approx. lives with her brothers, Thomas and Owen

(This Needs more Research) In the 1851 England Census the daughter Mary 14 is living at 11 Upp Whittington, Upper Holloway, Islington, Middlesex, England. This is a positive source as her mother is listed as from Spain. ^[4]

Mary Ann Bishop (spinster) and John Robinson (Bachelor) both of this Parish had Banns read in March, 1862 in anticipation of their marriage on April 20, 1862 in St Mary, Islington, Islington, England.^[5]

Check Data A birth date (Bishop-16780 born 24 Apr 1839) should not be within eight months of a sibling's birth date (Bishop-17092 born 18 Aug 1839) unless they are twins born within a day of each other.

Because the following record states Thomas Bishop is a bootmaker, this marriage is for the daughter of him and Mary Hensher.

Mary Ann Bishop daughter of Thomas a bootmaker, and John Robinson both single and of this Parish had Banns read in 1862 in St Mary, Islington, Islington, England. recorded in the Parish Register entry 1192^[6]

Mary married bachelor, John Robinson a painter on 20 April 1862 in St Mary, Islington, Islington, England.^[7]

The following may be the Wrong Family as in the Bishops Transcripts the father is a Butcher. Mary born to Thomas and Mary Bishop was baptised on the 3rd May 1835 in St Peter in Thanet, Kent, England ^[8]

It is so easy to confuse Bishop families. A family consisting of Thomas and Maria from Kingston on Thames also had children Thomas and Mary, but their father was not a baker, he was a butcher.
