Biography

Flag of Cornwall (St Piran's Cross, pre-1838)
Nanny (Berryman) Trewhella was born in Cornwall, England.

Anne Berryman was baptised on 3 May 1793, at St. Buryan, Cornwall, England. Her parents were listed as John Berriman and Margaret. [1]

Anne married Edward TREWHELLA on 29 Mar 1813 at St. Buryan, Cornwall. Edward was listed as a "Yeoman" of Gwinear, whilst Ann was Spinster from St. Buryan. No parent details were provided, other than "consent of parents". [2]

It appears that Anne and Edward had no children, but after Edward's death in 1817, it seems that Anne had three illegitimate children:

Ann died in 1862, aged 66, and was buried on 6 Dec 1862, at St Buryan, Cornwall. Her residence was listed as "Church Town". [3]

In 1841, Ann was listed in the England and Wales Census, 1841 as living with her daughter, Sophia at Church Town, (Penzance) , St Buryan, Cornwall, England. [4]

This record is rather speculative with respect to her son, Theophilus - presuming "Nanney" to be from proper name of Ann/Anne (and there is no evidence of any marriage, or even association, with Simon Trewheela)

Also assuming that her 3 children were illigitimate ... born after her husband, Edward's death in 1817.
