John Bean was born circa 1760, just over twenty miles northwest of present day Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
This area is now Juniata County, which was formed in 1831 from Mifflin County, which was in turn formed in 1789 from Cumberland and Northumberland Counties, a vast area of Central Pennsylvania that was then quite wild.
John Bean married Christina Zeiderin (1765-1842) and had a large family, all born in Pennsylvania:
David Bean, born Juanita County;
Thomas Bean, born Juanita County;
Henry Bean, born 1782, married Margaret May of Mifflin County, PA;
Margaret Bean, born Mifflin County, married in 1816 Reverend McLucas, moved to Saranac, Canada and had triplets;
Christina Bean, born 1800, in Mifflin County, married Alexander Scott of Miffin County, Pennsylvania;
Benjamin Bean, born August 30, 1807 in Juanita County, PA, married Catherine Wharton;
John H. Bean, born 1829, Miffin County PA, married Mary Berry and lived in LaGrange County, Indiana (possible grandson?)
John died, sometime after 1831 in Juniata County. His death preceded his wife's death, and she went to Ohio, to live with her daughter, Christina, in whose home she died in 1842.
