Hannah Eliza was born in 1851. She was the daughter of Edward Baigent and Mary Ann Hern. [1] She married Walter Ladley in 1874 [2] She passed away in 1929 age 78. [3]
MRS H. E. LADLEY The death occurred on Sunday last after a brief illness, of Mrs H. E. Ladley, of Waimea street. Mrs Ladley was a very well known and highly respected resident of the district having been born at Wakefield 78 years ago, the.daughter of the late Edward Baigent., who at the time of the Provincial Governments was M.H.R. for the Waimeas. Mrs Ladley was the wife of the late Mr Walter Ladley, Inspector of Schools, who predeceased her some 25 years ago. The deceased lady, who by her gentle and kindly disposition had endeared herself to a very wide circle of friends leaves six daughters and two sons to mourn their loss. They are: .Mrs F. Haselden, of -South Africa; Mrs M. A. Heather, of Nelson; Mrs J. Fulton, Auckland; Mrs C. Lash, Te Aroha; Mrs Stanley Jenkin, Dunedin; Miss Ladley, of Nelson; Mr Walter Ladley, of Christchurch; and Mr Maurice Ladley of Nelson. Two brothers also survive Mis Ladley, both of whom are well known in the business and public" life of the Province—Mr Henry Baigent, of Waimea street, and Mr William Baigent, of Motueka. [4]
