Ogden, born April 14, 1918 in Grosvenor, Brown County, Texas, is the son of Robert Lee Awbrey and Edith May Lawhon. Later that year the family moved to Elgin,Texas.

He was valedictorian of his elementary school class and graduated from Elgin High School in 1937.

Ogden later moved to Kingsville, Texas to work with his brother H.U. “Awbrey” Awbrey at Awbrey Auto Co.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on June 18, 1942 at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. He served with the 414th Night Fighter Squadron and became a Tech Sgt. He was being transferred to the Pacific Theater when the end of WW II was announced. He was discharged on August 27, 1945.

He returned again to Kingsville to work with his brother. He married his sweetheart, LaVonne Willmott on November 13, 1945. They met in South Dakota during training before being sent overseas.

Ogden was killed in an accident in Kingsville, Texas on December 17, 1945. He is buried at Elgin City Cemetery, Elgin, Texas.
